WhatsApp is now in Business!

“To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often” -Winston Churchill

We all know WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform of instant messaging service for Smartphones. It uses the internet to make one to one voice calls, video calls; send messages, images, videos, GIF’S, user locations and much more.

WhatsApp here, WhatsApp there, WhatsApp WhatsApp everywhere…. So here’s one new thing about the one app on every smartphone in every hand today.

A recent feature called Status, enables users to upload photos, videos and text status; it has been updated internally which stays for 24 hours on the feed similar to Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram Stories.

Latest news indicates WhatsApp is building its app to use it as a monetized platform by following the procedure like the one used by Facebook Messenger.

Well, this will take WhatsApp to the next level in the Social Market as it is the most popular messaging application at the time.

So here’s three creative ways to use WhatsApp for your business:

  • WhatsApp for Internal Team Communication: It is very useful tool for internal communication with the whole team/company. With WhatsApp Web, it is the easiest way to type messages using a web browser.

  • WhatsApp For Customer Communication: Increase your response rate with your customer for about 40% as follow-ups on WhatsApp shows more results instead of direct phone calls from Unknown numbers.

  • WhatsApp for Marketing & Promotion: Rajat Uppal, national marketing head, Red FM, says, “WhatsApp is the new SMS. We’ve realised that WhatsApp can be a very strong marketing tool. It is a good one-to-one platform for direct communication with our listeners”. WhatsApp can be used to promote or advertise your product or service on various groups or by broadcasting to create brand recognition.

Research shows that TechCrunch has discovered a code in Facebook’s Ad Manager that has an option to buy ads with the CTA “Send WhatsApp Message”. This makes easier for people to connect with businesses that they care about on WhatsApp.

The Next Web’s  Matt Navarra initially spotted the WhatsApp name in Facebook’s ad manager code, in a way that didn’t describe how the ads work. Upon further investigation, TechCrunch found this “Send WhatsApp Message” code.

WhatsApp reassured that it will allow businesses to contact WhatsApp users that have agreed to be messaged by initiating the conversation in the way as the Facebook Messenger sponsored messages, where businesses can pay to reconnect with people they’re already chatting with.

Another Research shows that WhatsApp and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines have started a unique test for a new service on WhatsApp.

KLM is now offering her customers around the world with booking confirmation, check-in notification, boarding pass, flight status updates and asking questions in ten different languages on WhatsApp via the official WhatsApp Business application.

This shows that KLM is one of the very first companies and the very first airline worldwide which has a verified WhatsApp business account.

To this end, WhatsApp has created an enterprise solution that makes it possible for businesses like KLM to connect with their customers in a fast and personal way on WhatsApp.

This rollout has already started in few of the countries and will become more widely available in the coming days and weeks. The messages are end-to-end encrypted which can only be read by the customer and the seller and no one else, not even WhatsApp.

It helps customers easily recognize verified businesses using the official WhatsApp business application by seeing a green checkmark badge next to the Business Contact name on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp initially promised not to show ads when it was acquired by Facebook for $19 billion in 2014. Whether it will stick to that is unclear, considering display ads ended up in Messenger. But with this new test, WhatsApp can start earning its keep and keeping its promise by outsourcing its ad hosting to the Facebook News Feed.

Ciao, until the next update guys!
